Yeah, well, that's just like...your opinion, man.
After I cut them off, sew the backs (heels) back together with contrasting thread.
Crochet & line a bottom for where the sole/toe would be, using the excess material from the two tongues as lining.
Use the eyelets/laces for closure.
Voila.
SHOE PURSE.
Totally about to chop off the fabric bits and crochet my own design to be sewn into the sole like so:

Only in colors that are not reminiscent of Mexican Christmas + Puce.
Winging the pattern because I don’t know if there is one/where to find it/these shoes were $12 so I’m willing to screw it up at least once in the process.
Got the red yarn; just need some sequins & a plan. I’ll have my goddamn Ruby Converse Slippers yet.
Obviously the easiest way I know how to do this is crochet.
The front door gets a LOT of sun, though, and I’ve heard that cotton yarns tend to fade like crazy in sunlight.
I have a ton of cheap acrylics that I got when I was first learning, some cottons, and a tiny bit of wool (I hate wool clothing and don’t know what else I’d use wool yarn for).
What’s the best fiber to use as far as color retention in sunlight?
I’d like to introduce you all to Radford + “Fuck, we forgot to pack the can opener!” (Taken with Instagram)
@thegeansshow remember when we had wine but no corkscrew? Kinda like that.
Slippers with flowers! Now I have warm feets. :) I started with a pattern, but it was for size 7 feet, which I…do not have. Also, the sides were too low for my high arches, so I had to improvise after the fact to make them higher. The flowers are just an improv. Needless to say, I don’t have a future in crocheted clothing sales, but they were fun to make and serve their purpose!
